Planning on buying the business plan but what the hat? wordpress.org?????
-
So I’ve done a lot of research and I understand the basic differences between wordpress.com and wordpress.org, but nobody is comparing the business plan on wordpress.com to wordpress.org. I’ve ran into several sites that say I cant install plugins like yoast on wordpress.com and others that make it look like the wordpress.com interface is extremely limiting and overall less pretty in comparison to wordpress.org. I don’t need to edit code…I’m just a therapist in private practice lol. But I would like access to yoast and lots of features so I don’t find myself stuck down the road…..Who decided it was a good idea to have .com and .org??? couldn’t you just host the .org stuff on the same site and be like ‘hey, if you want this software on your host click here’.?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes to the ssl question.
We have 4 different plans: free, personal, premium and business. All hosting is free regardless of which plan you choose. You can view all wordpress.com plan features here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ Add a plan for each of your sites here: http://store.wordpress.com/plans/.
The Business upgrade includes:
• Google analytics
• Footer Credit Options https://en.support.wordpress.com/footer-credits/
• SEO Tools https://en.support.wordpress.com/seo-tools/
• The ability to install most plugins including woocommerce and the ability to install third party themes.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/ Scroll down to Business Plan UpgradesWordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I’m sorry, I don’t think I’m understanding the lingo. If I am bringing a domain with me and having it redirected to WordPress is it considered to be hosted by WordPress? Thereby having an ssl certificate applied to it?

@therapyjoe WordPress.org is a free, open source software project. You can install it at your own host (indeed, with a “click here” installation) and do your own plugins, themes, and maintenance.
WordPress.com is managed service: we’ve installed it, set up the plugins that we think will help most, and maintain that installation for you. If you like analogies (I do!) it’s like the difference between a recipe and a restaurant. And we just recently started allowing third party plugins (like outside ingredients?) on the business plan.
If you are hosted here, we provide the SSL.
