The Pro plan is currently is not offered on a monthly basis. It is $180 annually. There is a new $5 per month Starter plan, but be aware that as a paid plan, it requires you to display ads on your website. Also it does not include Jetpack Easentials which means that you may deal with a ton of spam if you allow commenting as Askismet won’t work.

Also to add, rhe Srarter plan is also billed annually, so there are currently no monthly options.

It’s my understanding that Akismet spam protection is included in every WordPress.com website, including free and Starter. However, I’ve also flagged this thread for forum staff clarification.

    From https://wordpress.com/support/jetpack/

This feature is available on sites with our WordPress.com Pro plan. If your site has one of our legacy plans, this feature is available on Business and eCommerce.

    Jetpack on WordPress.com includes:

    Site activity
    Site backups
    Optimized performance
    Anti-spam
    Security and Downtime Monitoring

    Anti-Spam

Spam mitigation is powered by Akismet, so your blog posts and conversations on your site are less likely to be overrun with spam. You can see how much spam Akismet has blocked for you under Jetpack → Akismet Anti Spam.

So Akismet is not available on the $5 plan since Jetpack is not included.

Thanks for providing that link and info.

I agree that clarity of information is essential here, which is why I flagged this thread for staff attention.

  • Hi folks,

Akismet has always been a built-in feature of all sites on WordPress.com, regardless of plan, and there hasn’t been any changes in this regard.

I’ve made a request for that doc to be updated to be clearer.
