Can I play embedded vimeo videos on an iPhone/iPad?

  Hello all,

  I’m loving my WordPress experience so far, but I’ve hit a snag. I have uploaded a number of videos to Vimeo.com, and they play just fine when viewing the site from a desktop/laptop machine. However, if you view my site on an iPhone/iPad (even in the ‘mobile site’ format) the videos do not show up: there’s just a big empty space where the videos should be. I know that vimeo CAN be embedded so iPhones and IPads can see them, and youtube links work just fine, I’m just wondering if this is a Vimeo problem or a WordPress problem.

  Hi Eliot, thanks for getting in touch. Right now Vimeo videos won’t playback on an iOS device when they’re embedded on WordPress.com. It’s on our slate to update the shortcodes to take advantage of new mobile playback. Thanks for the suggestion!
