Playing a portion of a podcast

  I am trying to add a portion of a podcast to my blog. The entire podcast is hosted online and is a MP3 file. Is there a code I can add to audio to make it simply play a part of the podcast?

  If it helps, the portion of the podcast I want to play is also available online in an audio player that you can embed to your site.   I tried to embed it, but nothing happens when I preview, leading me to believe WordPress.com doesn’t support the format. If I could embed that audio player, that would be easiest, but if not, is there a way to tell WordPress.com what portion of a MP3 to play?

  No, you would have to edit the file offline to make a shorter one, then use the WordPress.com audio player to play that. And no, WordPress.com definitely does not support that audio player.
