How can I make a .wav audio file play when a post is opened?

Hi there,
There isn’t a way to make .wav audio files autoplay when a post is opened using our built-in audio player. (You can read more about how that audio player works here: Audio)
However, you can make audio autoplay by uploading it to SoundCloud and embedding their audio player into your post. We have a guide for doing that here: SoundCloud Audio Player
Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)

Thank, Rachel. I was quite hopeful at your suggestion. I’ve converted the .wav file to MP3 and uploaded it on soundcloud. I’ve embedded the code in my post (“you are called” in the fullness of being). Now I get a message “This track is not currently available.” Did I miss something?

Hi there,
You almost had it working, if it weren’t for one finicky detail about the code used to embed those audio files. :) There was some formatting on the embed code in your post, making it bold and italic, and turning the link in the code into a hyperlink. That kind of formatting can break the embed code.
One way to avoid that is to copy the embed code from Soundcloud and then paste it directly into your post editor, without any formatting. You can also do that by using the “Paste as Plain Text” button in the post editor, to remove any special formatting when you paste in the embed code.
I went ahead and removed the formatting on the code you embedded, so now that audio file is working. If you have any questions about it, please let me know. :)

Vielen Dank!
I directly pasted the short code I copied from SoundCloud, but I will surely remember your tip, and next time, use the Paste as Plain Text button.
BTW: Am in the process of learning German, and enjoyed your recent blog post.

Bitte schön. :) That Paste as Plain Text button will help avoid any formatting issues, but let me know if you have any trouble with it down the line.
And best of luck with your German learning! My German is still pretty intermediate, but I enjoy the learning process. I collected a little list of resources if you’re interested: Resources for Learning German
Cheers! :)
