Please add a Book Review Plugin?

Hi there.
I was hoping to avoid going self hosted as I love the community here at WordPress.com
Is there any chance of a Book Review plugin being made available here?
I’m sure there would be demand for the investment that WP.com would put in to make it live and there seem to be a few available for those self-hosting.

Plugins are for posting “vanilla” content composed by someone else IE. it is not original content and it is original content only that wordpress.COM supports.
Please read the types of blogs that are not allowed:
Automated blogs: Blogs that are generated by computers, including randomly generated blogs, blogs that re-publish press releases, marketing material, search engine results, link dumps or any other mass-produced content.
Book tour blogs: Blogs that consist primarily of pre-written publicity material, as opposed to original book reviews, for the purpose of promoting books and driving traffic to other promotional and giveaway sites.
P.S. I have blogged for 10 years now and witnessed the downward spiral from original content blogs to splogs featuring regurgitated crappola ie. duplicated content across domains that commenced when monetization was introduced.

So am I and I refuse to follow any wordpress.ORG book review blogs where the so-called blogger uses such book review plugins, and any other pre-written publicity material.

First and foremost, just because a plugin allows you to put in an ISBN which then populates a cover image, page count, genre, publisher and author and allow a rating to be assigned, I don’t see that as violating the Automated Blogs prohibition as it requires the manual intervention of the blogger.
Again, just because someone is using those details does not mean the blog will be primarily of pre-written publicity material. That would be down to the blogger but could be prevented by simply not importing the jacket précis.
What it would do is allow for a standardisation of formatting with minimal effort to allow the blogger to concentrate on writing an original review. So again, I don’t think would violate the Book tour blog either.
There is a big difference between making something easier and facilitating content scraping.
Are you replying on behalf of WP.com?
Just want to know if that’s it dead in the water or whether they will consider the suggestion. Thanks.

A couple of times I wanted a Post to match the format of another Post – I copied the original Post then changed the content – not as easy as what you are asking for – but maybe that would help

They would need to convert it to “short code” like they did the Recipe Plugin equivalent – a bit of work I think but probably a lot of book reviews on WordPress.COM – but you need to see what the staff think – some of the ideas and bug reports have been blown off of recent – but maybe
@TT is not staff and I am not sure she read your whole suggestion – standard formatting helps with the look and feel of a site and short code of some sort would make your job easier – it’s like table formatting is not a feature here so if you want a table you do it the old fashioned way
