Please add post slider as an option

I would like to request that the option to have a post slider be added. I know I can get a plug in if I have a .org blog, but it would be really nice to have that option as a wordpress.com user.

Have you considered choosing a theme that has a post slider?

I thought it wasn’t an option if you weren’t hosting your own site. When I try out some of those themes, it looks like it only allows me a static front page. Am I missing something?

Not true. The themes I linked to have post sliders. Though there are variations from theme to theme most require setting a featured image and designating it as a sticky post.

Yes, some themes require setting a static front page usually called a “Showcase” template. Most post sliders do not auto-advance. Visitors must click to advance to the next post in the slider. These four themes have a slider that automatically advances and the last one is a free theme that has a slideshow feature on the front page Debut, Currents, On Demand, Modularity Lite. You have to read the theme descriptions carefully for each one that has a featured post slider.
