Please allow us to import out Yahoo 360 blogs into WP.com

    I won’t rehash the many threads that this has been requested/discussed in. Suffice it to say that NONE of the suggestions suggested have worked other than to “Cut and paste”.

    Multiply.com wrote an import program for Yahoo 360 users about a week after Yahoo made the announcement it was closing 360 and no longer performing maintenance on our blogs back in October 2007.

    If multiply can do it I am sure that WP.Com should be able to do the same thing. THis is another official request please.

    You should submit your request via the Support link (bottom of page). WP staff may not notice a request here in the forums, since the forums are mostly help from fellow WP.com bloggers.

    As with any open source project, you are more likely to get features added if you write them yourself, or get it happening upstream (meaning you should be asking the WordPress.org folks, not the .com folks).

    The importer source code will eventually make its way into WordPress.com.

    Thanks everyone. I posted my suggestion here since I wrote support initially back in October – December 2007 asking the same thing. Since I had heard nothing positive from them I thought posting here would help but I guess I was wrong.

    Apparently this is something WordPress is not willing to do for the new customers they have gained from Yahoo’s blog closing. So I guess I should not bother to write them again and have them annoyed or ignore me.

    Raincoaster, Yahoo no longer provides any support period. They cut off all service to the y360 bloggers in October 07. I asked in every possible Yahoo venue over the past nine months and have gotten no assistance.

    Jeremy, I have my blog here on WP.com not WP.org so I am not sure why I would contact them to help me? Please elaborate. Would they even listen to me since my blog is not there?
