  Allowing a domain to expire

  When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

  If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

  Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the $80.00 redemption fee https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/#redemption-period

  If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

  If you did not register the underlying .wordpress.com site then contact the person with the username account who registered it.

  Hi there,

  If you’re referring to khmervillage.org, then it is in redemption and we may still be able to recover it if it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else.

  For that, a late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one that we can waive.
