  Please cancel my hosting as I need the plug in and your website does not support this.

  My first suggestions is to keep the blog but mark it private since once you delete it, you would not be able to get that URL back again, ever. Go to settings > privacy and check the last option and click save.

  You can, if you are absolutely, positively sure you will never want that blog back, delete the blog yourself. In the dashboard, go to setting > delete blog and follow the instructions, but please do read all the warnings. Deleting a blog here is forever.

  Correct me if I’m mistaken, but if the original poster wants to use wp stats he or she would need an api key which is already included with the existing account? I’m a little unclear about that, not having used wp.ORG myself…

  You are correct. If the original poster ever wants to use either the Akismet plugin or worpress stats plugin on a wordpress.ORG install then a wordpress.COM account is required.

  True, but there are alternatives to both stats and Akismet, and the account itself cannot be deleted as staff have said before, so if they want stats or Akismet, the account will still exist.

  Thank you both.

  So for stats and Akisment, the op would want to remember the email (and password) for the (possibly deleted blog and) the wp.com account. (or could just get another account for the same privileges?) But there are other ways to track stats and filter spam for .ORG accounts?
