I haven’t logged into my site for some time and when I try today I get this error message, but I don’t know what to do about it, help please
Please check your Primary Site’s Jetpack connection
I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

Hi there,
The site appears to be down in general. I checked Jetpack debug and received the error message
XML-RPC is not responding correctly:https://jptools.wordpress.com/debug/?url=http://www.exploringtheuncanny.com
Internal server errors (error 500) are often caused by plugin or theme function conflicts, so if you have access to your Dashboard, try deactivating all plugins. If you don’t have access to your Dashboard, try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required) following this guide:
If that doesn’t work, there are several more things that could be the source of the issue. Since this is a Jetpack-related issue, I would reach out to the Jetpack Team in the WordPress.org community forums, as they would be best prepared to further assist you:

Hi
Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I’m not at all technical and can’t understand exactly what I’m supposed to be doing to fix the problem. Can you suggest where I go from here?

I can’t log in to the dashboard because of the error message, so I looked at the second link you’ve provided and just can’t make it out, sorry

Hey there,
Yes, it is quite a bit of information that can be confusing. We do not directly support the Jetpack plugin in the WordPress.com forums, but our Jetpack staff are experts with the plugin. They would be able to better assist you with this issue. I would reach out to them in the WordPress.org community forums, and they’ll be able to point you in the right direction.

Thank you!

Hi
Hi again
I’ve had a look on the link you’ve supplied and there’s a response to the same problem that I have as follows.
(The first link supplied on the response isn’t working. Later, it says “please ask your host’s support team ….” etc. Is that you?) Thanks for your helpYou’re not connected to Jetpack because we’re unable to access your site’s XML-RPC file. This file is used by Jetpack and other plugins and apps to connect to your site, but some hosts and security plugins block access to it. You can see the problem here:
https://ungraded.co.uk/xmlrpc.php?for=jetpack
That page should simply say, “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” on a completely white screen, with the text left-justified in the top corner of the screen. You can see a working example here.
Please ask your host’s customer support team to allow Jetpack to access XML-RPC (or, modify your security plugin settings.) Then, reconnect Jetpack:
Let us know if you need further assistance.
