  I need help with configuring and managing widgets. I feel like I am in loop, and I am greating vey, very, very frustrated!!! This is not a user friendly set-up. All I want to do is be uplaod pictures from media library to display on the sidebar, and there isn’t an upload format…. I then want to link a URL to that picture. Very simple…

  Hi @livelovesk8, try these tips:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/

  Another way to go about it:
  – Upload an image to a post or page
  – View the page, right-click the image, and choose to copy the URL
  – Paste that in the URL part of your image widget
