Please could you advise me on an html problem?
-
I’m creating a flash fiction competition page and trying to input a paypal button to take readers to the paypal site if they want to pay and enter the competition.
Paypal tech support have confirmed I’m putting the correct html code into the ‘Text’ side. When I look back at the ‘Visual’ side, it shows the drop down menu allowing people to click on the button and go to paypal. But when I click on ‘update’ and view the page, all that’s there is a table and the written details and no button for people to click on to take them to paypal.
Here is the page and if you scroll down to ‘To pay by credit card’, you’ll see the table: https://esthernewtonblog.wordpress.com/flash-fiction-competition/
Paypal said the code that’s on that page is different to what I’m inputting on the ‘Text’ page. Does that mean when I click ‘update’ it’s changing the code for some reason?
Your advice would be gratefully received.

Hi there. We can only use the basic Buy Now/Donation button on WordPress.com. If you try to use the drop-down button it won’t work. In other words, there’s no way for you to program the button for different products and prices. See here for adding a PayPal button: https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/
