Please delete all my post categories

    Hi!

    I have been having trouble deleting my post categories.

    Can you please delete for me?

    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there,

    It should be possible to delete your categories so can you tell us more about the trouble you are having? It sounds like there may be an issue there that we may need to address.

    Are you getting an error message of some kind when you try to delete your categories? Or some other strange behaviour? Is the issue one that affects all categories or only certain ones you are trying to delete?

    Hi!

    I went to the posts section of my website, and selected the categories link.

    I then attempted to click the action menus next to each category, but there was no delete option in the menus.

    You should be able to hover over each of the categories and see a “delete” link.

    Yes, this is the correct url.

    By the way, I am using an android tablet, but using the web version of WordPress.com.

    Hi storygenie5, which dashboard “view” are you in, Default or Classic?

    On my Android tablet (Android 7) and in the FF browser, I turned my tablet sideways to landscape, which forces the left sidebar to appear all the time and I navigated to the Posts>Categories tab.

    If you are in Default view, you should see three dots to the right of each category title. Clicking on it gives you the option to delete it.

    If you are in Classic view, which also allows bulk editing/deleting, you should see the delete option under each individual category title. You’ll also see a checkbox next to the category title which allows you to select multiple categories. Then you click on the “Bulk Actions” at the top of the list and you should see a pop up window with the Delete option.

    Hello again, I now see that you also posted about this previously and were receiving Staff assistance at https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/deleting-post-categorses/ and where they asked what device you are using.
