Hello! My name is Bridget and I am the social media manager for the National Aquarium. It has come to my attention that an extremely outdated blog of ours is still active. We do not know the original login information, so could we please get this WordPress site deleted/deactivated? Any help on this issue is greatly appreciated. If needed, my email is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Unknown

What is the URL of the site you’re trying to remove?

Thanks for that. I’m not showing that the account you’re currently logged into is associated with that website.

If you have the transaction IDs from charges on this account, you can use the Account Recovery form to prove ownership of the site, then WordPress.com support can help you from there. You can find that form here:

    https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

Just fill out as much information as you have including an email address where Support can get in touch. The transaction ID will be on your bank statement as WordPress followed by a letter/number code. They’ll look like this:

    WordPress XXXXXXXXXX

You can read more about what the account recovery process entails here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

If there are no transactions, please send an email to passwordhelp (at) wordpress (dot) com explaining the situation, and we’ll see if there’s anything we can do for you.

    Thanks.

    Good Afternoon,

Unfortunately our staff has completely turned over since the inception of this blog, so we have no account information tied with WordPress. Is there anyway we can have it deleted? I can send an email from my account proving that I work for the Aquarium if that’s helpful?

    Thank you!

    Hi @bridgeeybear,

I’ve reached out to the email address on file for the site owner — if your organization has access to this email, please respond accordingly.

If I don’t receive a response within a week, I’ll set the site to private on your behalf.
