  I am trying to escape Gravatar, the most infuriatingly annoying service I suspect anyone will ever encounter—it follows me _everywhere_—it’s like a digital parasite—a social malware—impossible to remove from my Internet existence, while offering absolutely no benefit in return.

  To reiterate: please delete this account and all associated data, including Gravatar.

  Hello,

  It’s not possible to delete your WordPress.com account, however, there are few steps that you can do to remove any personal information from your WordPress.com account.

  1) Empty and delete your blog site
  URL: https://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/
  URL: http://support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/

  2) Unsubscribe from any email notifications from WordPress.com by changing your email settings.
  URL: https://en.support.wordpress.com/following/#subscription-settings

  3) Remove any personal information from your Account Settings
  URL: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-settings/

  4) Change your password to a random string
  URL: https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password

  5) While you cannot completely delete your Gravatar profile, you can remove all of your profile information easily through the “Edit My Profile” page here:

  http://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/?noclose#about-you

  You can also hide your Gravatar profile from external access. Visit your profile page (click your name in the top navigation of the website), then click the “Hide My Profile” link in the bottom, right-hand corner.

  Why do you think it is not possible?—of course it is _possible_; WordPress is just refusing to do it.
