Please dn’t tell me the Digg 3 theme has been changed??
-
I converted to the Digg 3 Column theme a little while ago because my previous theme was amended to something less than appealing without any warning.
I was just looking at my site tonight (www.stusshed.com also known as stusshed.wordpress.com), and the “previous posts” button normally at the bottom of the current page has vanished :(
I used to use this to click back through a few previous pages of my posts when looking for something I had recently written, or to see what the continuity of the site looked like to the outside observer.
Is it my imagination, or has this option suddenly vanished without warning?
Sadly, and this theme was a compromise, if I use different tools (such as the calendar) to see older threads, they are presented in summary form only, without all the text immediate readable, and pictures not visible. I really dislike that, but haven’t found another theme with a better look that has better functionality. I can see why people opt for more creative control of their blogs, as subtle changes like this without warning is rather frustrating (at best).
Is it my imagination? Did the ability to simply click previous posts vanish, or didn’t it ever exist, and I’m just confused?

Actually, I just checked an old image of the page (I had it stored on an iPod Touch), and it was a button/hyperlink called “next page”. It was definitely there at one stage, and it definitely is not there now.

I can see a “next page” and “previous page” navigation at the bottom of your blog right now.

Strange – it’s there now – what changed again? How can one feature disappear then reappear?

For whatever reason, the links come and go. When it disappears, just edit the last post on the page and save it. The links should re-appear. Don’t ask me why this works – it just does.

FWIW, this is still happening. Must be pretty frustrating to new visitors (and old) wondering how to access the previous entries without a lot of hassles.
I’ve limited the number of posts on the main page as recommended by Timethief, but if the previous post button is going to keep vanishing for no good reason, I’m tempted to go back to having a slowly downloading front page with plenty of content.
I don’t often remember to scroll down to the bottom of the page, just to check if a feature that should be there all the time (automatically) still exists.
Surely this is something that should be fixed, and not just by a workaround?
