Please explain the 'dotcom' as part of the blog name
-
Hi,
I registered tales-from-the-city as a paid domain, but I notice that there are two blogs registered:
tales-from-the-city.com
and
talesfromthecitydotcom.wordpress.comCan you please explain what is going on here? Is this how WordPress maps domains? Most importantly, is my tales-from-the-city.com domain up and running?
Thanks,
Evan

The “dotcom” is added when you try to purchase a domain name from the sign up page and the matching blog name is already setup.
The WordPress.com blog name and the custom domain name don’t need to match to work.
I checked http://tales-from-the-city.com/ just now, and it is working for me and looks good to go. :)
