Please HELP!!!!!

I am having problems with a client’s website. After the PHP was updated along with the WP version update a week or so apart. I noticed within a very short time that the site was not behaving as it should. Once I took a look, I noticed the plugins are all missing. I have tried to re-install the needed plugins but I am getting this message: Installation failed: Could not create directory.
How do I fix it? Sorry, I am not a developer or designer…I lost my CTO to an unexpected death and quickly lost most of my tech team. I need to get this site going g again.
I look forward to someone giving me some advice. I do not want to do unnecessary work, but I want the client’s mind at ease…did I mention HELP!

Can you tell us the URL of the site you need help with?
Right now you’re posting in the support forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We’re not the same thing as the open source WordPress software that’s made by the community on WordPress.org, and it sounds like that might be what you’re using.
If that’s the case, please ask that community for advice instead in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/, or alternatively support at the hosting provider you’re using for the site might also be able to help.

That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, hosted with GoDaddy, which we really can’t help with here.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
