Please Help
-
Hi this is all new to me, and I could do with some help, I have a website that is running at the moment and hosted elsewhere, its really just a stop gap until I get a new site built using one of the templates on here that I like. I don’t intend to publish until it is finished as it will take some time to do.
My question is what would be the best way to do this without losing all my search engine SEO as when you register on here it wants to relocate the domain rather than just suspend it until I ready? any feedback would really be appreciated. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy.
If I understand your question correctly, you want to build a new site here on WordPress.com, and then switch over to use your domain name which is currently registered somewhere else to use it for the site.
Here’s some information on how to do that.

Please let me know if I’ve misunderstood and I’ll try to help further.

Also, by doing it that way, any SEO authority that your domain name has earned should come along with it to the new site. Obviously, if the content of the new site is substantially different, that would affect rankings going forward from there (for better, or worse).

Many Thanks for that its been a bit of a worry but I do wonder if it would be better starting over, as I can see the new site being twice the size and with a lot more material which I never had time to publish before.
Have a nice Christmas where ever you live.Dave
