I registered with WordPress today and also cancelled it today and got refunded because it’s to complicated for me.. they now have my domain name and I can not register it with anyone else.. How do I get the name back? How can they just keep it?

@lanitoots when you cancel a domain, you don’t own it anymore. It’s returned to the registrar.
Typically if you cancel within 48 hours, it will be released after about 5 business days — registrars do this in case the user cancels accidentally.
So at this point we have a few options:
– Allow the cancellation to complete. This takes about 5 business days. If you have time, I recommend this.
– Help you re-purchase and restore the domain here. You could point it to another host then transfer it to them later. It’s more hassle, but you will get the name back quickly.
