  I own my own domain name. I do not currently have a wordpess blog, I would like to start one however I am so confused on how to use the hosting services so that the blog will appear as mydomain.com and not mydomain.wordpress.com. Any help will be grealty appreciated.

  You can start a wordpress.com blog here and add domain mapping for $10/yr. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/10/domain-mapping/

  Alternatively, you can install wordpress on your own host.
