I’m sorry it took a bit for me to get back to you, I just woke up. There’s no phone number to contact WordPress. Posting in the forums is the best way and users and staff can help. Let me see if I can figure it out on my blog and then I’ll better be able to walk you through it.

First when you are trying to switch to text editor there’s an option for that directly above the box where you would type your post at on the upper left hand side.

And I’m trying to help :) I’m going through the process myself right now to see where the issue is.

I’m going to type it out step by step and hopefully my instructions are a little more clear this time.
1. Open 2 tabs in your browser. One will be for your dashboard and one will be for your PayPal account.2. On your dashboard open whatever post or page you want to add the button to. Click over to the text editor (in the box where you type there’s two buttons on the upper left side, make sure it’s clicked to Text).
3. In your other open tab go to PayPal and sign in to your account.
4. Under Your Account in PayPal you should see somewhere in the sub-menu where it says Profile. Click on that.
5. Once in your Profile click on My Selling Tools. Then go to under Selling Online and click on PayPal Buttons (where it says Get Started).
6. From the drop down menu click on the type of button you want (Donation)
7. Enter the information and click Create Button. Make sure you did not customize.
8. You’ll see a new page appear and a box that has Web and Email on the upper right hand side of it. Click the Email button and you will see some code in there.
9. Now you have to select which button shows, which you can do here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/#buttons
Pick whichever button you want and copy/select that specific code.10. Go back to your dashboard (which should be in text view) and paste the code for the button.
11. Go back to the visual view and you should see an image. Click on that image and then go up to the menu where you can edit the text. Next to text alignment there’s an icon that looks like a paperclip. Click on that. It will pull up a window where you will put the code that appeared in the Email window of the PayPal site. This links the button to your account.
12. Then preview to make sure it works and save any changes.
If this doesn’t help let me know and I’ll flag this for staff to come look at it.
