Please help, I have forgotten my Word press user ID….
-
I am trying to log onto my WordPress website http://www.srtrees.co.uk but I have forgotten the log on id. I have tried to raise an ‘Account recovery’ form but it asks for proof of ownership which I do not have. WordPress email me to advise me that my website has updated – but I cannot access it.
When I try to log in, it logs me into an old wordpress page that I must have initially set up as a test & that needs deleting. The website is running fine at this moment but I need access – please can someone help?
Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. I’m sorry you’re locked out of that account. I should be able to point you in the right direction though.
It looks like your site srtrees.co.uk is a self-hosted WordPress.org site hosted with One.com. There are a couple of ways you can get access to that account. One is to contact One.com directly. The other is to try recovering your password from the following link:
http://www.srtrees.co.uk/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
However, for this option, you’ll need to know the email associated with that WordPress installation. If you don’t know it or don’t have access to it, you’ll have to contact One.com for further assistance.
Additionally, if you have WordPress specific questions, you can post them in the WordPress.org forums here:
https://wordpress.org/support/

To add to what @sstabrizi said, if you have access to your server, these instructions from WordPress.org can help you regain access to your account:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_PasswordJust be sure you have backups before making any major changes. Good luck :)

Hi, I am unable to reset my password for some reason. When I enter the email address I receive the WordPress updates for srtrees.co.uk on – the password tries to reset for another of my WordPress sites & NOT the srtrees site.
-
@srtrees it’s because there’s a difference between http://srtrees.wordpress.com/ and srtrees.co.uk.
One of them is here with us, the other is your own, self-managed installation with one.com. They are separate, so they have separate reset options. Resetting the password here will have no affect on the password there.
Did you try the suggestions @sstabrizi and I sent?

Hi, thank you for your help.
http://srtrees.wordpress.com/ needs deleting – how can this be done? The wordpress site I need to go in and update is a different one that I can’t get access to.
-
I have logged onto One.com and looked for the option to access the wordpress dashboard or wordpress password access and there doesn’t seem to be anything.
I clicked on the link from sstabrizi & it directs me to a password reset but there again is the problem, I don’t know my log on id/email address for access to my wordpress dashboard??
Any help is appreciated, thank you Gina.

http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password – It can’t be this difficult surely?!
It’s looking like i’ll have to scrap this wordpress site and start again wtaf?!
-
@srtrees we can’t help much with the site at one.com because it isn’t here with us.
Please read this carefully: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t want to do the technical work, it may well make sense to keep srtrees.wordpress.com and set up your site there so you’ll have support for it.

FYI – the WordPress log on to access the dashboard is –
www.(type web address here)/wp-admin/Thanks.
