Please help. I have wordpress.org & wordpress.com confusion

I have a website http://www.anbsllc.com that I purchased and is hosted by hostgator.com. Additionally I just opened up anbsllc.wordpress.com. I downloaded wordpress.org software and installed it using the one-click install *great! I thought I would be able to simply login and manage my wordpress.org website for example use different themes etc., but I cannot find a way to login and administrate the basic wordpress.org theme. So I went to wordpress.com and purchased their $100.00 upgrade to possibly have better domain service and software management. What am I doing? I am lost. All I want is the ability to simply manage a *.com website using simple administration tools like change my colors, edits posts. Can somebody steer me in the right direction? Otherwise I will spend money on everything but accomplish nothing ^^

If your website is hosted by HostGator, you do not need to buy any WordPress.com upgrade.
Get a refund for your purchase…
