PLEASE HELP – I think I just wiped out a business blog!
-
I was working on a friend’s blog site, trying to bring it to a new Google Site, and when I changed the settings on the general settings page and changed both URL’s to the new site, it completely wiped out my access. There is no more dashboard, no more anything. Any thing I try to access brings me to his Google page which says the site doesn’t exist.
If I go back to where the site was originally hosted, it just has the side nav menus and nothing else. I cannot get back to the dashboard to change the address back.
Any suggestions? Solutions? I am having a heart attack that I just lost all of his content.

Are you talking about the URL settings on the general settings page? If so, then the site you are talking about is self-hosted at a third-party hosting service and you need to inquire over at the wordpress.ORG forums as that is where the self-hosted software is supported.
Don’t worry though, the site is not “gone” it will just take some help from the people over at .ORG to get it back up and running.
