Please help, lost access to my blog after disabling jetpack
-
Hello, I have used WordPress over a decade for my site sethdavidmiller.com. It was hosted through Bluehost for the domain name. I saw earlier today the page would not load. When I logged into WordPress to check, it had a red exclamation point saying ‘fix issue.’ It said I needed to disconnect Jetpack to correct the issue. I clicked that button, and then I lost access to the entire account. The one that was visible is now gone. Please help me figure out how I can regain access to my account, and hopefully with all of the former information still in tact.
Thank you!

Hi there:
To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:
1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.Since your site is not hosted with us, we’re limited to what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.
You were able to access your site here at WordPress.com through the connection of the Jetpack plugin to your WordPress.com user account. This doesn’t serve as a copy, a backup, or anything else other than a way to access your site via this dashboard. Removing that connection here at WordPress.com has zero impact on your site hosting.
Note your site is still loading at
sethdavidmiller.comat Bluehost:
And your login page can be found here: http://sethdavidmiller.com/wp-login.php
If you don’t remember your login, you should reach out to Bluehost for help with this issue. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you regain access to your site.
Once you’re logged in, the Jetpack plugin should indicate that your site is no longer connected to your WordPress.com account – just follow the prompts there to get things reconnected.
I hope that clarifies things!
