  Not all code is possible to embed on a free site. JavaScript would require plan Business or above:

  Because YouTube is one of our allowed embed providers. Also, when you try to embed YouTube code, we strip out the extra code and just post the YouTube video URL as that’s all you need to embed a video here at WordPress.com. You can read more about this here:
