Please help me completely hide the sidebar in Chateau to maximize photo size.

Hi. I have the Premium Chateau theme, and I’d like to completely get rid of the all contents in the sidebar in order to maximize the size of the photos. Please reply with clear directions on exactly how to do that, as the last response I got only shifted my widgets to the footer, but still kept Archives, Categories, Subscribe, and Meta Widgets open the the sidebar. I can’t figure out how to make those disappear no matter what I do. Also, what is the maximum width of the images once I am able to make the sidebar disappear?

    Thanks!

    Howdy Vivian,

    Follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to Appearance -> Theme Options from your Dashboard
    2. Change the Layout option from the current setting to “One column, no sidebar” as shown here:

That should do the trick! Let me know if that creates the look you’re going for.

Thank you so much! I swear, the Theme Options category wasn’t there the last time I tried. That did the trick. I appreciate it!

Do you know what is the optimal pixel dimensions for a horizontal image and a vertical image in order to maximize the size when viewing?

Not a problem! I’m glad that worked. Regarding the optimal pixel dimensions, I’m not quite sure I understand your question. It looks like the content width is 791px wide. So, any image that is wider than that will automatically be shrunk down. When adding images, inserting them at 800px width (with corresponding height) should work well. Is that what you’re asking? If not, please let me know! I’m happy to clarify.
