Please help me decide

  Hi,

  I’m choosing a plan to upgrade, also choosing the right theme for my site.

  My ultimate goal is to have a youtube.com like website specifically for English language education serving the students who do not have the opportunity to learn directly from native speakers in person. So, my first question is, is it possible for me to find a theme that could function like youtube.com where I can categorize the videos, and the student users could make remarks to the videos they like, and the moderators can control and rate the posts by the contributors?

  Before that, I’d like to start with a simple site that guests/visitors can post texts/images/short audio/short videos without logging in. I found P2. But P2 doesn’t let visitors post videos. Could P2 be customized to allow video posting?

  Hi, so you’d like to create a new streaming service where people can upload videos without logging in? There may be plugins you could use to do that. I’d recommend something that is popular and well rated, and updated regularly:
  https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/upload/

  You might also want to restrict uploads though so that only verified, logged-in users can upload.

  Then I will upgrade two sites, one for streaming, the other for discussion.

  If I want the discussion site to be password protected, but visitors don’t have to log in (they only need the password), what is the cheapest plan I can choose?
  And, after I upgrade, would visitors still see “Create your website at WordPress.com Get started”?

  Hi Shaun,

  You can select the Blogger or Personal plan and make the site private so that only people you have invited can see it:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

  Also, selecting any of the paid plans gets the “Create your website at WordPress.com Get started” message removed.
