Please Help Me Get Started
-
I set up a WordPress.com site. I cannot access it. I cannot seem to get help. Nothing is making sense. I paid for an account for two years. When I type in the site name, it says ‘Coming Soon’ and there is nothing else–no menus, no buttons–nothing. When I go to WordPress.com, and click on ‘My Site’, it says I do not have one. When I opened this help post, the site name came up. I am so frustrated. I would really appreciate help.

Hi Bonnie,
Can you take a video recording that points step-by-step on getting the issue? Then upload to a file hosting service like Google Drive and link it as a reply to this thread.

Thank you Kharis. Thank you for replying. I can try to do that. How will a video help? Would screen captures do the same thing?

Bonnie, don’t bother with a video. What is the site address?
If it was bought at WordPress.com, this account isn’t the right owner. A different login owns the site. You can revisit the email you got when making the purchase to determine the correct login email.

Thank you Darciemg. The only email I got said:
“Welcome to WordPress.com. Please click the button below to confirm your email address and activate your account.
Confirm Now
Helpful reminder: At any time, log into your account with your username, xxx or your email address.”I have clicked on confirm several times, but it just takes me to the WordPress.com page that says at the top “My Site” “Reader”. When I click on “My Site” it says I do not have one.
Do you have any other suggestions?

That might be for this account, not the one you want. Did you check other emails? What is the site address?

Hi Darciemg.
The site is https://womenswordsofwisdomca.wordpress.com. That is the one that just says “Coming Soon”. The other one at https://wordpress.com/stats/day says I don’t have an account.

Bonnie, I see you bought womenswordsofwisdom.ca on the 22nd of June. Try going back to your emails to see which email address was sent that receipt, as it will be the login to get to your site. Look in all your email accounts, as what happens is this is commonly registered in a different account than intended. A personal email is likely.
If you cannot locate this and cannot find any other accounts, you should recover the account. WordPress.com staff will help you get back into that inaccessible login where your domain resides. See this page: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
