Please help me place my photo
-
I have a question — note:I have read the information on this topic — yet I am still in need.
I would like to place my photograph on Second Chance to Live. If some one could walk me through the process, I would grately appreciate your kindness.I do not have a digital camera, however several years ago a friend of mine took some digital pics and I have those on my hard drive.Thank you for your time and kindness.

I think this FAQ covers it pretty good:
Those are basically the steps I take when I’m not using the ones on my Flickr account.
The FAQ applies to both entries and pages.
If you have any specific problems while following those steps, let us know. :-)

I read the information in the link above and I thank you. I am not wanting to create a separate page with my picture. I would like to place my picture in my sidebar, but I do not know how to size my picture so It will break my site. Therefore I need to know how to size my picture to fit in my side bar. Can someone help me with sizing my picture so that I can place it in a text widget? Thank you for your time and kindness.

The widest your image can be is 180 pixels.
I’d go for something like 170 to be on the safe side.
You’ll need to resize your image to fit within that constraint.

If you know how to post it in a regular blog post, you can use the Write Post to make a text widget if you like. What you do is make a DRAFT post (set it to Draft in the blue box on the right that says Status) and you upload your picture and follow the instructions in the FAQ. Then you click on it and resize it to 170 pixels wide. You don’t need to set the height, as that changes automatically. Align it left or right as you prefer, or center it. Add text if you want. Once it looks the way you want, click on the Code tab and copy all that code. Then paste that code into your text widget and it will look exactly like it should.

You guys are the best. Thank you so very much. I will give it a whirl. Have a great rest of your day. Craig

If you are using the text rich editor and you have already uploaded the image into a post then you can click on it and after that you can change the size by dragging or pushing on any diagonal corner.
HTH -
Or if you click on it and select the image icon (the picture of the tree) you get a popup box and in it you can put in the exact number of pixels high or wide you want it to be.

Thank you again my friends. I uploaded, sized and have a pic of me on my site. Let me know what you think. Thank you for all your help. You are a blessing to me. God bless you!

Craig,
i made you a smaller picture so you won’t look so vertically squished. You can find it here:
http://judyb12.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/craig_small.jpgFeel free to just change the URL in your text widget to hotlink to my file (so you don’t have to download & upload it yourself). The text in your widget should be:
<a href="http://secondchancetolive.files.wordpress.com/2007/07/dress3.jpg" title="dress3.jpg"><img src="http://judyb12.wordpress.com/files/2007/07/craig_small.jpg" alt="dress3.jpg" />Edit: forgot to say “well done!”

Thank you Judy. I switched the code in the widget. You are a TREMENDOUS blessing to me. Thank you also raincoaster and timethief. I was not attempting to link to a larger picture, it just worked out that way. I do not know what I did to get that link set up. Any ideas?
By the way, ladies, do you think having a pic of me makes Second Chance to Live more personable?
Thanks again my friends. You all ROCK!!! You too abbydonkrafts and katm. Thank you for your time and kindness.

Craig,
You are most welcome. We can’t have you looking all squishy, now, can we? ;)
The link is the
<a href="...">part. Any time you see an “a” all alone in HTML code, it means the stuff after it will be a link. The</a>is the end of the link. You can leave all that out (and just use the<img src="...">) if you don’t want the image to be clickable.Yes. I think it’s a great addition to the site; much friendlier.

Thank you Judy. I am not a squishy type of man. I am a man’s man as I have been told. Thank you again for your time, effort and kindness. I think I will leave it clickable for the time being. What do you think Judy? Pros/Cons.
