  Aloha bageluncle, It looks like you are working with a self-hosted WordPress.org site instead of the WordPress.com-hosted version supported here.

  WordPress.com uses Gravatar to power the avatars (profile pictures) here. You can change your avatar using these steps:

  • Visit My Profile Settings
  • Click the avatar (image) in the top left to Update Profile Photo
  • When the popup appears, click Sign in with WordPress.com to log in to Gravatar with your WordPress.com account
  • Select one of the options to change your image.

The forums are completely separate from each other, so you will need to register an account there if you haven’t done so already.
