Please help me with my CSS design!
-
I recently purchased my own domain name and CSS abilities for a total of $30 USD and now it won’t work for my little brain capacity *sigh*
This is my site: http://crumbsoflife.com/ . I’m wanting that design, brighter colors for the background and the models flipped around (maybe a little bit bigger font). Can anyone tell me how you do that? Are there any easy tutorials out there (preferably a voice tutorial step-by-step not using fancy programs)? All the tutorials I’ve seen say you cannot edit the actual HTML, you can just edit the CSS and look of your already picked theme (which I’m not farmiliar with), or you have to have another “host” or something for your website.
Also, what about the http://www.wordpress.org themes? How do they fit into the picture? I tried highlighting the CSS code, posting it and saving it in my CSS box (tried both: start from scratch and add-on), and nothing happened but the colors and fonts changed – it was all scrambled though.
Thanks in advance, any answers should help!

First, if you are not familiar with CSS, you should know that there is no official support for it. And very few people around here really know anything about it. You are going to pretty much be on your own (which is why there is a preview function – so you can try it before you buy it). At the top of the CSS forum are some stickies with CSS information in them. Starting there will be your best bet.
wordpress.org themes don’t fit into the picture at all. They can’t be used here, precisely because you need access to the underlying files, which we don’t have here.
Good luck!

Go to the CSS customization forum and there are some sticky threads at the top of the forum (yellow background).
Also, search the FAQ’s for “CSS”
