Please Help, My blog posts are not displaying in full

    Hi there,

    Thanks for helping me in advance. I have rejoined wordpress.com last week and I am having trouble getting my posts to show completely. Can someone help me?

    I am not very good with computer stuff.

    The HTML code on your posts is incredibly corrupted, as if you had been copy/pasting from the very worst version of Word that ever existed. For example: 

    <p>Pre-heat&nbsp;the&nbsp;oven&nbsp;to&nbsp;190C&nbsp;-&nbsp;gas&nbsp;5.</p>
<p>Boil&nbsp;water&nbsp;and&nbsp;salt.</p>
<p>Peel&nbsp;and&nbsp;cut&nbsp;the&nbsp;potatoes&nbsp;in&nbsp;half;&nbsp;wash&nbsp;them&nbsp;in&nbsp;warm&nbsp;water.</p>
<p>Place&nbsp;the&nbsp;potatoes&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;salty&nbsp;water&nbsp;and&nbsp;leave&nbsp;to&nbsp;boil&nbsp;for&nbsp;5-7&nbsp;minutes.</p>
<p>Drain&nbsp;the&nbsp;water&nbsp;and&nbsp;shake&nbsp;the&nbsp;pan&nbsp;to&nbsp;roughen&nbsp;up&nbsp;the&nbsp;potatoes&nbsp;a&nbsp;bit.</p>
<p>Rub&nbsp;some&nbsp;oil&nbsp;on&nbsp;a&nbsp;large&nbsp;roasting&nbsp;pan&nbsp;and&nbsp;lay&nbsp;the&nbsp;baking&nbsp;sheet&nbsp;on&nbsp;top.&nbsp;Add&nbsp;4&nbsp;tablespoons&nbsp;of&nbsp;olive&nbsp;oil&nbsp;to&nbsp;the&nbsp;baking&nbsp;sheet&nbsp;and&nbsp;spread&nbsp;the&nbsp;potatoes&nbsp;over&nbsp;it,&nbsp;coating&nbsp;the&nbsp;potatoes&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;oil.</p>
<p>Place&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;oven&nbsp;and&nbsp;cook&nbsp;for&nbsp;40&nbsp;minutes&nbsp;or&nbsp;until&nbsp;they&nbsp;are&nbsp;turning&nbsp;nice&nbsp;and&nbsp;brown</p>
<p>Serve&nbsp;with&nbsp;gravy.</p>

    That’s just appalling.

    To fix this, and to prevent it from happening again, go to your dashboard Settings->Writing page and select “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and save.

    Then go to Dashboard->Posts and select the most recent posts, all of them. Set them to Draft using the bulk editor (the drop-down button there, you’ll see it). Set them back to Public. This forces the change above to take effect.

    That should fix this and prevent it from happening again.

    Thanks so much for your help.

    I selected the “wordpress should correct invalidly nested XHTML” and save. I edited my recent posts but nothing has change. My posts are still not displayed completely.

    What should I do next?

    Great, you shouldn’t need to retype them all. Just go to Edit them, change anything at all, a period to a colon, anything. Then update. That fordces the change to take effect.
