PLEASE HELP! My email is registered to an account that I no longer use

    I would like to start my own website/blog but my email address is already registered with wordpress for an account. I am familiar with the account because although it is largely inactive it was part of student profile organisation. I have checked the settings of that account but it has the organisation’s email address registered. How to I remove my email address from it?

    I posted this exact same message on the forums and received no help in the two weeks that it was up. The account that my email address is linked to was created in 2008. I took it over in 2014/2015 but no longer use it. PLEASE HELP
