Please Help With Domain Redirecting

    Hello wordpressers =)

    I have bought the domain http://www.bizalotmarketing.com through wordpress and used it to redirect visitors to my blog bizalotmarketing.wordpress.com (mapping I think that’s called). I have tried to do my homework by looking around the support area, but couldn’t find a simple answer. I want to achieve the following:

    – Redirect visitors to http://www.bizalotmarketing.com to http://www.webjam.com/bizalot_marketing.com

    – I use Google Apps for my email – will this affect my email in any surprising way?

    I am not very technical, please use newbspeak in your suggestions/instructions,

    From what you are saying, and after having a look at webjam.com, it appears to me that you want are moving your website from wordpress.com to webjam.com, correct?

    Now, the domain mapping instructions at webjam.com say this:
    At your domain registrar, go to the DNS Management services and change the CNAME, making the domain point at the IP name: webjam.com. Thus: domain name CNAME webjam.com.

    That step is not possible while your domain is registered with wordpress.com. You need to transfer it to a different registrar.

    Then you can map the domain to your website at webjam.com.

    that’s right, I am moving the site to webjam.

    so domains registered through wordpress can only be used for wordpress blog powered sites, yes?

    Once transferred to a different registrar (thank you for the instruction link btw) – will it be possible to ‘tell’ the domain registrar to simply ‘point’ visitors of the registered domain to another web address? will it be possible to do this without doing anything on the webjam bit of things?

    E.g. my registered address is http://www.bizalotmarketing.com and I want all people that type this address to be automatically brought to an address of my choice… http://www.webjam.com/bizalot_marketing

    -what is this procedure called?

    -will transfering the domain to another registrar affect the delivery and workign of google apps mail?
