Please I need help to remove comment box

  I am having great challenges to get rid of the comment box on my front page in the HEMINGWAY REWRITTEN theme. I disabled the box “comments” in screen settings several times now, it keeps coming back. I also changed me settings into ‘No comments allowed’, but the box is still there! Please help!
