Please make my messed up catagory list go away

  Adding categories to my blog seemed like a good idea. It probably is, but I really don’t want the hassle of figuring out how to make that option work well. However I learned this by adding categories to one post and now I want to make them go away. How would I do that?

  After messing around some I found the delete button on the widget. Categories are gone. I think I will start another blog just for me to play with those things before I go live with what I really what people to read.
