Please make my old WordPress.com site private – no longer in my dashboard
-
Hello,
I previously owned the site:
littlephotoworldcom.wordpress.comI renamed it to:
littlephotoworldoldish.wordpress.comIt is no longer in my WordPress.com dashboard, but it is still publicly accessible and being indexed by Google. This is creating duplicate content problems with my main site:
https://littlephotoworld.comI need this old .wordpress.com site either deleted or made private.
I can confirm I own littlephotoworld.com and used to own the .wordpress.com version.
Please can a staff member assist me?
Thank you,

Hi,
I’ve noticed that you rename the site littlephotoworldcom.wordpress.com and set littlephotoworld.com as the main address recently.
When you rename a WordPress.com site and set a custom domain as the primary address, it can take some time for search engines like Google to update their indexes and reflect these changes. This delay can sometimes cause old URLs to still appear in search results, which may lead to duplicate content issues temporarily. To help speed up the process on Google, you can:
- Use Google Search Console:
- Verify ownership of your domain if you haven’t already.
- Use the URL Removal Tool to request temporary removal of the old
.wordpress.comURLs from Google’s search results. - Submit an updated sitemap with your new domain URLs to encourage faster indexing.
- Request indexing:
- In Google Search Console, you can request indexing for your new site URLs to prompt faster crawling.

- Use Google Search Console:

This is what I see. The .com domain has Siteground nameservers and
littlephotoworldcom.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.
littlephotoworldoldish.wordpress.com doesn’t exist

Good catch, @themagicrobot,
I overlooked that detail. Although littlephotoworld.com is registered with WordPress.com, the site is currently pointing to a self-hosted WordPress site.
If your goal is to have littlephotoworld.com display the WordPress.com site, you can follow the steps in this guide to reset the A records: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/custom-dns/view-or-restore-default-dns-records/#default-a-records
littlephotoworldcom.wordpress.com is no longer available. However, littlehotoworldoldish.wordpress.com exists. There is a small typo (missing the ‘p’ in ‘photo’) on the WordPress.com site, which is currently being redirected to the self-hosted site.
