  staff-ozmodiar – the options at the link you gave are not complete.

  They could pick a new address transfer all the content to the new address and keep the old address. This is the option I always suggest as many times a person will have second thoughts about the name change and if the original name is deleted they are really stuck and can’t go back to the old name nor can they buy a Site Redirect for a deleted site.

  yes in some cases with my (an many other helpers in the forum) suggestion the blogger will buy the site redirect upgrade and other times they just leave a note on the old site that they have moved.

  Also there have been some reports by users in the forum that when they did the rename thing but wanted the old site to stay alive that the old site was still deleted. Don’t know if they clicked on the wrong button or the software failed, the the old site is gone forever and the blogger is stuck.

  Maybe a bit of fine tune on the document link you linked to would be a good idea

  I agree. I see a couple different places where we could modify that a bit to make the options more clear. Please, kick me in the butt over it if you don’t see me tidying it up next week.
