PLEASE – PLEASE HELP ME TO TRANSFER MY DOMAIN

I have been buying and transferring domain for over a decade, but I have never felt so helpless transferring my very own domain name to another registrar. I have followed the step by step instruction and even contacted the (email visible only to moderators and staff) to find why I cannot log into their website to modify the domain.
I follow the step-by step modification instructed by WordPress in their website, but as apparently the domain is registered “private” I had to to the domainsbyproxy website to release the “private” tag. I don’t ever recall registering with the domainsbyproxy, and when requesting to remind me of user name and password, the website told me that my domain doesn’t exist in their system.
I have also contacted the WordPress team several times, to seek help, but alas no reply with the correct information, hence I now have to be forced to cancel my domain with no access to it.
I have never imagined that transferring a domain has to endure such stress and trauma. I feel that I have no choice to renew, or not to have access to my blog, which I also paid for. :(. So in tears!!!

I’m fairly sure that the issue is just that domain privacy upgrade needs to be canceled. That has to be done before domains can be transferred. However, you do not need to contact domainsbyproxy to cancel it. You can do so from your WordPress dashboard. The instructions are listed here:
If you have Private Registration, go to Store → My Upgrades in your dashboard, find the domain you want to transfer, and click on Cancel Private Registration. You will then be asked to confirm the cancellation. Click on Cancel Privacy Upgrade to confirm and cancel private registration.

Hi rootjosh, thank you for leaving your comment here. I did go through the WordPress, and follow the step by step procedure. An email was sent to me with a code, but when entered it during the transfer, the new registrar informed that the domain could not be transferred as it was registered private. I went back to my WordPress account, and follow the link where how to cancel the private registration, and that link was directed to the domainsbyproxy website.
I no longer allowed to go to my dashboard, unless I cancel the domain and I I click on the “cancel” button, there was a warning to say that if I continue the cancellation, I will not be able to renew, transfer it.
I know it is not rocket science, but it should be so easy to cancel as easy as it was when I register it through WordPress. I feel a little trapped!!
Is there anyway I could go back to my account and try it without cancelling my domain? It’s really not about the US$26, but it is about my right to have it transferred when I want to :(.
Hope you can help or suggest a solution. Would my right to the domain be completely vanished if I cancel it via the WordPress site?

I have removed the private registration for you. You can still access your dashboard if you dismiss that little robot notice that pops up. See this screenshot:
You MAY have an issue with your domain being expired however. The transfer may work, but if it does not, you may need to renew before you transfer. The good news about that is that the year of registration transfers with you.

Let me know how it goes. Please keep in mind that as I said before, you may have trouble because it is an expired domain. You also may not. It really depends on the registrar.
