  Hi there,
  I have recently taken over this site, transferred the domain within go daddy. Now go daddy requires my ip address to link accounts. Please provide my IP. Cheers Julian

  Hi there,

  You can map your domain to your WordPress.com site using WordPress.com nameservers, you’ll require a paid plan. You’ll find the steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  As regards IP address, this option is not encouraged because it’s not static and may affect the domain when it changes. If it’s still required, you can contact support. You’ll find more information here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/ip-addresses/

  Thanks for all your help. So to talk to support I need to upgrade to a paid plan? It worked great in the past with the IP address so I don’t see why I would need to spend more money… please help me out. cheers Julian

  To get direct access to support, yes, however staff can still respond to forum threads if you wish. Simply add the “modlook” tag and WordPress.com support staff will respond soon. :)

  Hi Julian,

  An existing domain can be connected to WordPress.com with domain mapping — which is a feature of our paid plans.

  It sounds like you may have used domain forwarding in the past but that won’t change the domain of the site you have created here, only forward traffic from one to the other. Visitors will still see mountainmademarketsite.wordpress.com in their browser’s address bar.

  We recommend pointing the domain to WordPress.com by changing the name servers, since IP addresses can change over time (which can cause your domain to stop working):

  Are you happy to use our name servers or do you definitely need IP addresses?
