Please refund me for unwanted Auto-update

    I have just received an email to say I’ve been charged $18 for an update I did not want/agree too. Is there any way I can obtain a refund?

    Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

    You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel an upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew.

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades.     The $18 was for the renewal of your domain, theurchin.net, which was due to expire on 6 January. You had auto-renew enabled on that upgrade, and domain upgrades are always auto-renewed a month early to ensure that you don’t lose your domain.

    I can still refund you the $18 at this time, but that will also mean that your domain is cancelled immediately. When you cancel a domain you give up ownership of it, and we cannot guarantee if and when it will become available again, or that you’ll ever be able to register it again.

    If you want me to cancel the domain and refund you, please confirm and also confirm that you understand what cancelling a domain means.
