Please Remove Linked Blogs

Sorry to have to bother you with this, but after doing some research, it appears this is the only official way to get entries removed from my “Linked Blogs” list. Please remove:

    Home Front with Cynthia Davis
    http://www.castlereport.us/dev1
    The Castle Report
    The Castle Report – Dev1

These are self hosted wordpress.org sites (or development versions thereof) that I recently built for a couple of friends. I have no idea how they ended up linked to my wordpress.com account, or for that matter, how you would purposely get a site linked up to your account.

I didn’t know these sites had become linked. I discovered this as a result of trying to figure out why some of my email notifications for my wordpress.com blog (things like “someone reblogged your post” or “someone liked your post”) were coming to me under the name of my friend’s website. Comment notifications are still coming from my blog (American Perspective), but all the other notices say they are from “The Castle Report” which is over at HostGator.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

They probably were linked through Jetpack. A staff member will have to take care of this for you. I’ve tagged this post for them to look at so they will get to it as soon as they can.

    Hi rwpeck,

These are the self hosted sites I see on your account. Some of the links do not work, so please confirm that you wish for me to remove all four of them:

    174.132.106.2/~dlcastle/test1/wordpress/
    174.132.106.2/~dlcastle/dev1/wordpress/

Yes, please remove all four. A couple were just sub domain type experimental versions that I used while learning, but there’s nothing there now.

So if this is being caused by Jetpack, I may need to uninstall it from the other websites that I’ve built where I am the admin? or at least not install it on any new sites? There are several of the Jetpack functions that I like and use – including receiving site activity notices. I just don’t like when the right notice says that it’s coming from the wrong site. Perhaps I need to be having this conversation with the Jetpack folks over at http://jetpack.me/contact-support/

    Thank You WordPress Hapiness Engineer!

    Hi there,

I have disconnected all four sites for you.

When you connect a site to Jetpack, it shows up in your list of sites on WordPress.com as well as in other connected Jetpack sites. If you don’t wish for it to show up there, you will need to disconnect Jetpack.

If you have additional questions about Jetpack, the link you posted is exactly the right place to ask them. The folks there will be happy to help you out.
