please remove/discontinue blogs associated with wordpress.com

I have several blogs which I’d been an admin or author for and now those blogs (most externally hosted) are clogging my dashboard. It seems only a WP.com admin is able to delete/remove blogs associated with my WP.com account (according to this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-remove-blogs-from-the-my-blogs-list?replies=24)
The blogs I’d like to be disassociated from are:

It would seem by now there would be an easier way to accomplish this and not have to bother Wp.com admins with this sort of thing.

That’s an old thread. We cannot do this for you.
If you want to leave a blog you have been made an official user of by way of invitation you can use the leave a blog option. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#leave-a-blog
You can transfer any wordpress.COm hosted site you registered to another account. You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
