Please revert the theme on svpow.com

  I was changing the theme for one of my OTHER wordpress.com blogs, when the theme for my long-running science blog Sauropod Vertebra Picture of the Week (svpow.com, aka. svpow.wordpress.com) changed!

  I don’t know what the previous theme was called, so I can’t merely reselect it in the Appearance area.

  Can you please revert it for me? MANY thanks!

  Hi Mike.

  I’ve activated Simpla on svpow.com, which our records indicate was the theme you were previously using before the switch. If you had custom widgets in your sidebar, then you can restore them to your site by heading to Appearance > Widgets in WP Admin:

  https://svpow.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php

  If you scroll down the left-hand side of that page, you’ll come to the ‘Inactive Widgets’ section. You can drag widgets from that section and drop them in the ‘Sidebar’ area on the upper right-hand of the page.

  That’s great Siobhyb, very much appreciated! It’s nice to have the old site looking itself again!

  Yes, I can fix up the old widgets.

  BTW., I think it would be great if the dashboard’s Appearance -> Themes page included a note “Your previous themes were X, Y and Z” so that other people who make the same mistake as I did can recover more easily!

  Glad I was able to help out on that, Mike, and thanks for your feedback on theme switching. We definitely want to make the process of switching between themes as painless as possible and improving the process is something that’s on the roadmap.
