Please turn on Recovery Mode

  • Unknown's avatar

My site is down due to Mailchimp for Woocommerce plugin. It’s hosted with SiteGround and we’ve restored to a previous back up as well as disabling the plugins, and ensuring they’re not on auto update.
I cannot access my WP dashboard as everything has creased. It seems that the Mailchimp for Woocommerce plugin is being automatically updated from somewhere (not SiteGround) and each time it does the site completely crashes.

Emails from WordPress keep notifying me that the plugin has been updated and then that the site has crashed. They also link to Recovery Mode, yet that doesn’t work.

Please help! I need Recovery mode switched on for my site so that I can get into the dashboard. And can you see what’s happening with the plugin?

    Many thanks.

  • Hello there,

If the site is hosted with Siteground ultimately you would need to reach out to Siteground support for help with restoring the site, and disabling that update.

For help with the plugin itself, you would need to reach out to the plugin developers here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/mailchimp-for-woocommerce/

When the site crashes, I would recommend asking Siteground for a specific error message that causes that fatal error to assist with troubleshooting.

    I hope this is useful.
