Please update A record

    Hello,

    Would you please update the following records?

    A record
    host:@
    Points to IP:50.87.196.120
    CNAME record
    Host:www
    Points to DOMAIN

    so that once it is pointing to Bluehost IP they can make site work.

    Also, I’ve created a backup file of my old domain (thesensitivemovement.com), but when I try to upload it, an error shows up and I cannot continue. How can I upload the backup file into my new domain (saritamartinez.com)?

    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    I’ve checked it, and the site thesensitivemovement.com is not hosted on the WordPress.com servers. We can not help here with sites that are not hosted with us, as we have no access to your site, and our support tools will not work.

    The domain is hosted with Fastdomain. You need to contact them to update the A records.

    The site saritamartinez.com is not hosted with us (it doesn’t have any current host), so you’ll need to check this with the company where you’ll host the site.

    Hi,

    I’m sorry but that is not the case. I’ve been managing the site thesensitivemovement.com from wordpress.com for more than a year. Recently I manually changed the “primary domain” to saritamartinez.com, and then it is when things started to go wrong because the new domain is not setup yet. So now my wordpress.com dashboard does not show my old website anymore.

    Anyways, the site that needs the A record updated is the new domain: saritamartinez.com

    I contacted bluehost a couple times and they changed the DNS records but now they need you, wordpress.com, to update the A record.

    I have a backup of my old site (it was up and running, including e-commerce, till I changed the main domain), and I guess I need to import it from saritamartinez.com once the A record thing is up to date. So, would you please proceed?

    Your WordPress.com account (sensitiveinsideoutf3fee4cf0e) was auto-created by Bluehost one year ago. A WordPress.com account can be used to manage a site hosted elsewhere via Jetpack connection but the site is not actually hosted in the WordPress.com servers.

    The site thesensitivemovement.com is actually hosted by Bluehost/Cloudflare, as you can see here: https://securitytrails.com/domain/thesensitivemovement.com/dns

    If you want the domain saritamartinez.com to load the contents of thesensitivemovement.com, you’ll need to point the domain saritamartinez.com to your site at Bluehost/Cloudflare.

    You’ll want to contact Bluehost to get assistance with this, as you need to point the domain saritamartinez.com to them.

    Alternatively, you can migrate the contents of thesensitivemovement.com to a new site in WordPress.com by following this: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-using-move-to-wordpress-com/ and then add the domain connection of saritamartinez.com to the new site created: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Please note that this implies creating a new site here and purchasing a plan. If you already have hosting purchased in Bluehost, you might not need this unless you want to change your hosting provider.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your clarification and the alternative solution. I find it useful, the only thing is that when I try to access my wp-admin panel, the page doesn’t work because the site (actually both sites) are disconnected. So I feel trapped: I need to access wp-admin in order to move the content of my old domain to my new domain but I cannot access it till the site is connected.

    Even more trapped: As I mentioned before, when I contact bluehost or Domain.com to update the A record, they both refer me to you.

    Any alternative solution to this problem?

    I really would like to fix this issue asap, so I can manage my site again.

    The site thesensitivemovement.com is hosted with Cloudflare via Bluehost, as you can see here: https://securitytrails.com/domain/thesensitivemovement.com/dns

    Here at WordPress.com, we don’t have access to the backend of that site. If wp-admin is not working, they should provide you with a solution to make it work. You can use this link to indicate to them that they host the site.

    You can contact Cloudflare here: https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/requests/new, and you can contact Bluehost here: https://www.bluehost.com/contact

    The domain saritamartinez.com is currently not pointing to any site, as you can see here: https://securitytrails.com/domain/saritamartinez.com/dns. Accessing it via wp-admin won’t work. You’ll want to point it to thesensitivemovement.com once this site is working again.
