"Please verify email address" message won't go away, blocking posts

  I can’t post to my blog because I keep getting the “Please Verify Your Email Address” box. When I click to have a message sent to my email to verify it, I never receive it (even though the email address is correct; I have received email from WordPress charging me for the account, even though I can’t use it because of an email problem).
